Bow before His Majesty, the Lion King :)

.
YIPPIEEE!! I finally got the pics! Happyfying, happyfying, happyfying post ahead! Hehehe.

Took me awhile to get this post up, because I didn't bring my camera to the hottest Broadway Musical in Melbourne, The Lion King. I was under the impression that we couldn't snap pics, and furthermore, I brought a small clutch bag, and there was nooo wayyy my camera will fit into that little clutch.

Not that my camera's hugeeee. (in fact, it's pretty slim and sleek, which was why I got it in the first place)... but that's not the point. Boy, I digress... Sorry. (-_-)

Anyways, Pon brought her camera, and we managed to "steal" a couple of shots in the theatre \(^o^)/ *yay* Hahahahaha. We actually got told that we couldn't take pics in the compound after the usherer saw us snapping pics. Yeaps, we were trying to be really discreet, but oh boy... hehehe. So embarassing. Luckily they were really nice, and unlike those 'military-like' people somewhere, they did not request for us to delete our photos or anything! Kakakaka.

I think I look fat in this photo! Darn it. Must be the flowy dress! *thou shall blame everything around you, but yourself*

After the musical, while waiting for our "driver" to come with the car. Hehehe. Chee Yoong was soooo super kind enough to park the car for us, cause we were running late, and there was absolutely no parking spots in the city that night! It was horrendous!! :( Ade and I had to run to the theatre... in our dresses. Tsk tsk tsk... It was NOT a pretty sight! Thank God nobody we knew spotted us!

Group pic :)

I know I have raved about how good the musical was! How nice the headgears were, how elaborate the costumes and props were... But really, you won't believe me until you see it for yourself! But (O_o) there are no more available tickets until the end of the season! *rubs it in* (I know a certain someone who wants to watch it, but couldn't get tics) Gosh, I'm so mean!! Lalalalala.

But the downside is, I'm so darn broke now! Been doing a fair bit of travelling, spoiling myself doing 'cultured' stuff, too much going out under the pretense to destress, wayyyy too much shopping and spoiling myself.

I think I need to survive on bread for the rest of the month :( Boohoohoo. No more going out for the rest of the month! **Yeah rite! Who am I kidding?** **looks into organiser, and *gasps*! weekends already filled with plans**

Mei needs to sit down and study. Time is running out!! Exams are around the corner, and Mei needs to get her brain back. I think I lost it somewhere in the midst of everything.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For a split second there, I thought about blogging about my endless shopping sprees, and my recent purchases. But only for one split second... Obviously, I decided against, for a certain someone will get really crossed with me. Ok, maybe more than just a certain someone (-_-'')

Looks like you had a great time! Good excuse to get dressed up too! Hehe...You should blog about your shopping! Shopping is fun! Yup, Golf and wine sounds good! Although maybe the golf will have to wait til Winter is over!

What was your favorite song?

Where did you sit?

jonathan: Yeaps! Sure had heaps of fun! And uh huh, good reason to get dolled up :D and wear my heavily underutilised dress.

Yeah, shopping's fun, but I shall not blog about it, just in case... Don't wanna get backfired.

sethos: My favourite song, hhmm... I can't think of one. Most of them were really good, but I guess the all-famous "Hakuna Matada" was one of those I could sing-along to. :D Hehehe.

We were somewhere in the middle.

Why? were you there too? Hehehe, I went sometime back though.

I saw the Lion King 19 July 2005... even further back :)

My fav songs were the ones that I heard for the first time (not in the movie) - Shadowland and They Live in You.

I also greatly enjoyed the orchestration for some of the instrumental sections (no singing) and the percussionists to the side of the stage were awesome.

Got tickets/plans for other shows/events?

sethos: July last year? Wow! :) My initial plan was to watch it Dec last year, before I went home for summer. But tickets were already sold out. Only managed to catch it this year...

Yes! The percussionists were really good! The orchestra was great too! :D

sethos: Plans? I wanna watch Cirque du Soleil - Varekai :) But they're only coming to Melbourne next year.

What about you? anything interesting to recommend?

Mei said...

caryn: Hehehe, I'd love to, but like I said earlier, I'd just get scolded left-right-centre... and I'll get skinned and disowned. So, hhhm, better not. Kekekeke..

Thanks gal :D I certainly had fun that night!

Did you go to the Apollo concert last night?

Mei said...

sethos: Apollo concert? You mean the Med orchestra?? You're in Med too???

Apollo Health Music Society

They have a choir too :P

No, I don't study Med but quite a few of my friends do and some perform in Apollo.

----------------------------

When are you going to buy Cirque du Soleil tickets? And what are you waiting for?!?!?!

Btw, Cirque Eloize and the 7 Fingers are all contemporary Canadian circuses very much like Cirque du Soleil (but smaller). Many of their performers are former Cirque du Soleil.

Mei said...

sethos: When? Well, I don't know. I'm still thinking. Hehehe :D I'm so broke now, it's not a good time to buy tics.

Let me entice you with this concept...

A party at the upstairs Chocolate Lounge of Koko Black Lygon Street. 50 guests.

Each guest gets any TWO:
- Hot choc drink
- House wine
- Icecream or mousse
- Belgian spoil (to share btn 2)

An amazing selection of Belgian chocolate and truffles floating around all evening and 8 martinis of flavoured chocolate buttons.

Mood lighting, candles, roses, nice music, and ... roving magicians entertaining with closeup initimate card tricks and slight of hand.

We might even throw in speed dating by making it a singles only night ... but then it doesn't really matter with the rest does it :P

What do you think?
