Dear God,

Thank You for blessing me, for letting me walk out of this with only minor physical injuries. Thank You God, for blessing me with people around me, that genuinely care for me, and love me, sincerely.

I cannot thank them enough, and I can't thank You enough...

For I'm still breathing...

And I can't thank him enough, for being so patient with me, holding me the whole time, assuring me that nothing else matters, so long I'm alright.

Tender Loving Care...

We had a "just us" weekend the past two days.... well mostly us. Hehehe... Went to IKEA to get our dining table and a new bookcase :) Went for the "Tezuka - The marvel of manga" at the NGV, "window" shopping at Chadstone because I didn't get anything for myself.

Heaps of shops were on sale!! But I couldn't find sizes that fit me! :( Sigh... What a let down... Jon managed to grab something from Calvin Klein on 50% discount! ArGhHhh... I'm so jealous~!

Jon grinning like a little boy...

We went sofa hunting on Sunday @ Nunawading after lunch. I'm gonna be so fat, cause I think I had KFC for lunch for two weekends consecutively.... But I have to admit that it's damn yum though! :P

Headed home after grocery shopping, and Jon decided to make us dinner :) I was very amazed really! It feels good to be pampered... cause he doesn't usually cook dinner. He's not very domesticated, although he'd disagree with me. :P He can't even sew his own buttons, cause he has never sewn anything in his entire life!!!

Jon getting domesticated in the kitchen :P All that's missing is an apron. Hahaha.

Lamb cutlets on the grill.

My yummylicious dinner :) Although the lamb wasn't tender, because we have no tenderiser... but dinner was as yum as ever... because it was made with love. Hahahaha... Sounds damn corny, I know... but it does feel good to be pampered once in awhile. *grin*

I had a good weekend... What about you guys???

Of NYE and more parties...

I'm awake, alone at home now... cause my shift for today doesn't start till noon... hooray! But then again, I'll also be the only one covering the wards this evening/night. It's quite scary having to do my first cover shift! Usually, there's always someone more senior around, that I can ring/consult. But then again... there's always a first time for everything... and hopefully, today will go smooth **crosses fingers and toes**

Anyway, here are some pics from Cammie's birthday aka NYE party. Yeah...she was born on the 31st of Dec... where she had the whole world celebrating with her... but not necessary for her though. hahahaha...

It was a poolside party @ Subang, where we could catch the Sunway Pyramid fireworks.

Clockwise: Steph. Julian, Mei, Camilia & Wei Young

As you can see, the girls got told to wear dresses... HhmMmm... I felt extremely over dressed for a poolside party, but I guess the up side of that way, I didn't get thrown into the pool... I kept insisting I was sick, and that the dress was expensive. Hahahaha.

Birthday gal with her yummo cake!! Doesn't it just look deliciousssss???

Mei & Cammie

There were lotsa alco that night.... but the funny thing was, we didn't have enough ice! So John, the co-host for the night had to sacrifice ice from the fridge in his apartment for us. Kekekeke.

One with the girls...

Cammie, being the birthday girl... obviously drank alot. cause we made her! Hehehehe... She was extremely drunk by the end of the night, and was not quite herself. Dear girl, you were funny, yet extremely scary at the same time. So, please don't do that again k???

Cammie, Linus & Mei

I think Cammie was one of the girls I saw the most during my summer holidays back in KL! Thanks girl, for always making time for me... This is what friendship is all about. You don't have to see each other all the time, but when we do... it's just like the good old times!

I MISS YOU GUYS... I had a good time that night. More partying when I get back to KL k??

The raging fire...

Yesterday was indeed a bad day for many Victorians... The raging bushfire in Northern Victoria has wiped out transmission lines, causing power failures in many suburbs and also the CBD... leaving many Victorians literally stranded.

I was having a late lunch with Ade in Box Hill when the power outage occured. We were both shocked, as it was indeed an unusual occurence. We waited for abit, but the power didn't return... so we decided to leave instead. Driving out of Box Hill Centro was a nightmare, cause the carpark was literally pitch black! The security had to use torch lights to guide us to our cars. Luckily, we weren't the only ones in the carpark at that time! It would have been so darn scaryyyyy!

I then dropped Ade off, and headed home... but it took me wayyyyy longer than usual to get home... cause all the traffic lights were wiped out! CRAP!! Traffic police had to direct traffic at main junctions all across Victoria. The commuters had it bad when train and tram lines were both affected as they run on power. Some were stuck in the train for almost 3 hours, with no air conditioning, on a 39 degree day.

Some were even admitted to hospitals for heat strokes!! Poor them! Can you imagine cooking in an "oven" and you don't even have electricity?? No fan, no air-conditioning... nothing! I'm just so lucky not to have been at work last night, or else, I wouldn't have the opportunity to sleep at all.

The power failure news was all over the radio this morning. Almost everyone was affected, in one way or another. Jon's mom and dad's place didn't have power for a couple of hours. Many couldn't sleep last night as it was just too hot. The worst thing is, you can't even take many showers, cause of the water restrictions! :(

And as for us, we resorted to bubble baths with essential oils, just to relax. You have no idea how therapeutic it is, to just immerse yourself in the bath while eating calippo... and get all wrinkly... after a stressful day...

Picnic BBQ @ The Zoo

Last Saturday, the company had a welcome picnic BBQ for the new interns at the Melbourne Zoo. They were giving away 50 free tics - that include entry to the zoo and free food! Hehehe. How good is that??? Being one of the lucky ones, I managed to get a free tic :) Who would wanna miss out on free food huh??

The weather was good... it was nice and sunny :) but yet breezy.... NICE!

Kelvin, Ade & Li Cheng

Clarissa, Mel, Kaz and the intruder, Richard. Heheheh. **only kidding**

It was good seeing Richard again after a month or so. Apparently, he's learning golf now... Would be nice to play with him one day :) **I won't be the one playing, of course. I suck at it** Tried practising today at Jon's mom and dad's... kept missing the ball! Oh mannn... How embarassing! :(

Yummy food on my plate... Hehehe. That was only the first serving!

James trying to feed me :P Hahaha. It was quite funny!!!

Alrite, since it's getting late, I'm just gonna let the pics to the talking...

My fellow colleagues & bosses... hehehe.

The group :) My friends, coursemates, and now... my fellow colleagues.

Ade buddy & Mei

Smiley faces :)

After lunch, we decided to walk around the zoo for abit, to look at animals before heading home... Since we were already at the zoo, might as well make the most out of it huh?? **Although I've only been to the zoo a couple of months back**

Everyone wanted to see the elephants! I'm not quite sure why...

But I've got to admit, this big fella is kinda cute :)

I didn't get to see the orangutans the last time around... cause the place was under construction... Now, the new orangutan sanctuary is open, and the place is brand new!

Ok, it's really getting quite late, and Jon's bugging me to go to bed.... so I better end here.

I had a great day at the zoo.... so good that I didn't realise I was getting cooked under the sun! And now, I'm all red and streaky, AND burning!!! It's soooo bad! I have not been sunburnt in a long time!!! :( Sigh.... Looks like I'm kinda like a prime candidate for melanoma. Tee hee hee...

I hope I don't start peeling tomorrow! :(

Officially on the job

Just a few updates...

Well, the past few days were orientation days, at our different hospital sites. Our team won the "amazing case race" and got a 50 dollars David Jones voucher each! :) AWESOME!!

My roster is officially out. I'll be the only one covering all the surgical patients every Friday night :( Boohoo... How scary is that?! However, I do get a half day shift on Tuesdays though... but but but... the thought of being the only one on the floor on Friday evening is just scary!

What if someone goes drinking, and gets into an accident, and requires surgery or something? I can so see myself dreading Fridays already! But I guess, not having any weekend shift this rotation kinda makes up for it! :) Hehehe...

I finally got my car. Been driving a little. Should start driving MORE to familiarise myself with the car so I can handle the car better. The car's fantastic. I absolutely love this baby. Jon reckons it's too girly for him to drive though. Hahahaha...

Well, now the weekend is here... and I'll have some time to relax, and read up on my anatomy and "surgeon preferences" before I commence my rotation... so that I won't get screwed so much :( Sigh....

AND I wanna do up the house too. My study still looks like a bomb :(

Hmmm, so how's everyone been??

Pre-departure...

I managed to meet up with some old friends before I flew back to Melbourne. It seems to be an annual affair to have Starbucks Coffee with them, so this time around... we decided to go somewhere else. No no, actually, it was because Cammie hasn't had dinner, and wanted to go somewhere that served hot food instead of just pastries. Hehehe...

Cammie & Mei @ Dragon-i, The Curve

I reckon I look bad in these photos, cause I wasn't prepared to go out and meet friends. They called me while I was having hotpot dinner, and insisted that I meet them, cause Dr. Ee Vern was back from Temerloh for a short break... so we had to grab this golden opportunity to meet him.. Hahaha. So yeah, I wasn't properly dressed... and didn't have make-up on :(

Mei with Dr Ng Ee Vern - this guy is all brains~! Once ranked the number 6 chess player in Malaysia.

One with the girls - Thanks, Huiyee, for sending me the photos!!! It was good seeing you again... and hahahaha, I won't tell anyone about seeing you in KLCC, trying on lipstick for your boss! *oops, did I just say it aloud?* Hehehehe.

Hui Yee, Cammie & Mei.

We were having so much fun chatting and cracking jokes that we had to be chased off by the restaurant staff. They were closing and have already packed up all their chairs and stuff.... and were just waiting for us to finish... But we didn't realise, and just kept chatting. I think in the end, they couldn't wait any longer... and so came to tell us that they were closing. hehehehe...

And don't worry, Cammie... you don't look bad in the photos. *She was sick as a dog* We had to bring her to the doctor's to get an MC for the next day.

Well, another round when I get back k??? :)

*muah* Miss you guys heaps!

To everyone in Malaysia, I miss you guys heaps!
A special shout out to Funny, whom I've been sharing a room with for a month

Clubbing @ Velvet

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

This is gonna be another photo-heavy post. If your connection is affected by the Taiwan earthquake... it may take quite some time to load, or I suggest... perhaps viewing this entry another day. I have already resized the pics for easy viewing :)

Last Saturday, we went for a pre-New Year's Eve celebration... I know it doesn't quite make sense... but we were just giving ourselves an excuse to party. And since it was gonna be my last weekend here in KL... I thought... Why not?!

We headed down to Velvet. Being the place to be on a Saturday night, the queue was surprisingly not that long... and Mich's friend was kind enough to get us in :) Tee hee hee... Thanks Loo!

Bumped into Kah Seng. Supposedly, we studied together... but I couldn't recognise him **shy** But surprisingly, he said hi, and remembers me! How nice of him :) Hehehehe... Thank God Ming Yen recognises him, and told me his name. Hehehe... Sorry Kah Seng, I am not being a snob... I just couldn't recall... My memory fails me :(

One with the girls - Li Ling, Michelle, Mei

Happy faces :)

Mich suddenly asked me "Do you remember him?"

I was like... "OH MY GOSH!!! You're from my primary school!!!"

It's been more than a decade since I last saw Zhi Way. It was certainly a pleasant surprise bumping into him that night. It turned out, that the world is indeed quite small. Hahahahaha. Or maybe, it's just that half of KL is in Velvet on Saturday.

Shiew, Sue Fern & Mei

The guys, getting high - Lobster Chee Yoong and Tomato Ming Yen... with the sober girls - Mich & Mei.

Mich had to leave early because her sister needed a ride home :( We missed you!!! Boohooo! Make sure we catch up once more before I leave k??

Feels like college once again!

Cheryl, it was certainly fun partying with you! Always such a good sport! :) Hopefully, we can catch up for a cuppa before I leave on Friday, if work's not too busy at the moment.

The BB Gals :)

Jonathan was there too! It seems like clubbing with him is an annual event. Met him at Ghetto Heaven @ Zouk last summer. Tee hee hee... I guess I was fortunate enough to catch him again, since this busy man just touched down, and headed straight to Velvet to celebrate a friend's birthday.

By the end of the night, my feet were killing me! But the music was so good that I was kinda reluctant to leave... If I didn't have to wake up early the next morning for driving lessons, I would have only left when the club closed. Hahahaha... But oh well, it was good... and I had heaps of fun! Thanks peeps!

And no darl, I didn't pick up... :) As I said before... nobody worth picking up. Tee hee.
