Dare to dream

My sis wrote about her dreams in a recent post... It was a very well written post that was truly inspiring... hence me writing this post now. I wish I could link the post so you can read it yourselves, because my words are not gonna do her post justice. But she's made her blog private, so... you'd just have to deal with mine.

She did mention how her dreams changed as she grew up. How your dreams change when you're at a different stage in your life. How circumstances around you may affect the decisions you make. How your life experience shape the person you are, and hence shape your dreams at the same time.

All successful people have a dream. In fact, their greatest success probably started with the most absurd dreams. Dreams that people laughed upon, and called crazy. Dreams that were deemed impossible at one stage...

It got me thinking... Am I much a dreamer?? I don't think I've dreamed many big dreams in my life. I have always been a believer in not dreaming and expecting too much, hence not getting disappointed if something doesn't turn out the way I want them to. And I'm not big on sharing my dreams with others as well, hence the frequent answer "I don't know" when asked about my future. It's almost as if, if you don't talk about them, they're kinda not there? I've always been a drifter. Just taking things when they come. Not very much a planner and a go-getter, which I should be really!

Anyways, this post is kinda weird I know. But it just made me realise how much my baby sister's grown over the years. How she's always been the bigger sister in life, but I've been the bigger sister in chronological age. But it also made me realise that if I do have a dream, I should chase it.

I don't have to announce to the world what my dreams and aspirationgs are, but it's important for me to acknowledge them, and work my way towards them... You'll never know if you don't try! She's right!!

Until you reach the destination, you'll never truly know if you're going to be happy. You can speculate and wonder all you want, but the only real way to find out is to get there and experience it, believe it! No matter how long the journey takes, or how windy the roads are!

"If you lost hope, somehow you love the vitality that keeps life moving, you lose that courage to be, that quality that helps you on on in spite of it all. And so today, I still have a dream."

Thank you Funny, I just realised there's something I need to do now *hugs* I will let you know how it goes later :)
