Little random updates!

Woohoo!! I'm oficially on annual leave! Unfortunately, I still have some stuff to settle before I jet-set off for my holiday adventures! :( AND to top that off, I've picked up 2 locum shifts next week to make some extra moolah for this holiday season. More work and no play for Mei.... for now.

School holidays just started too, so you'll see screaming kids everywhere now! And everything from hotel room rates to flight tickets just seem to get more expensive with the school holidays! Dang!! Just my luck! Everytime I get time off, it seems to coincide with school holidays, so I can't stretch my dollar... How annoying!!

On a separate note, I managed to catch up with Sweet Ping a couple of days ago. Gave her a ride to MMC for her interviews, while I sorted out my timesheets and leave applications etc. and headed to dinner after.

Sweet Ping and Mei @ Palm's Cafe. Haven't seen this girl since, before her rural rotation... and now she's in Geelong, so... not much oportunity catching up with her!

Jon and Gaya.

Gaya's super hilarious. She suggested to have dinner at Palms... So we got there, and waited for her... and then, I got a phone call from her, saying that she's on Princess Highway, heading towards Dandenong! I was like o.O "What are you doing there?!"

Her amazing direction sense got her lost, AGAIN. Sighhh... But oh well, she made it back in the end, so that's all that matters. Get yourself a GPS babe!

Went for drinks at the all new Coco Lounge - the bar upstairs.

Completely separate from the Coco Lounge downstairs, although they still share the same name. Menu's different upstairs as they have a bar, and they don't do main courses upstairs. Just nibbles, and mostly drinks...

The decor's warm and nice too. Timber flooring and walls, with dimmed lighting and warm colored settees. We were seated at a cosy corner as well, so that was a plus point.

Jon and Mei - sporting a new blue-purple jacket. I absolutely love the bright colour, and have been complimented multiple times *grins* but Jon, of all people, seems to think it's too loud.
"It looks like a ski jacket that you'd wear to the snow" he says...
"what-evaaaa" :P

No bonus points to who ordered the Pinot :P

Speaking of GPS, I went to the city yesterday and bought myself a phone / PDA / posket PC / GPS thingo. Got the HTC Touch Cruise, as the new 3G iPhone, HTC Touch Pro, Touch Diamond and the Blackberry Bold are all not released yet! Sighhh... so darn slow~!

Well, I HAD to get something before the end of June, as a CME *continuing medical education* claim. I went to Organiser World, as had a look at all the PDA's around... and this is probably one of the better looking ones. The rest are all big and heavy. Well, I guess most PDA phones are like that, huh?? Oh well, beggars can't be choosers... so I just setted for one.

My brand-spanking new baby, the HTC Touch Cruise... still in the box.

It's pretty similar to the iPhone, in terms of the Touch Flo program, where you just slide your finger across the screen to "flip" pages. But I still like the look of the iPhone better :)

The good thing is, it comes with Windows Mobile - so I can install medical programs like Up-to-Date and Mims Online etc. whereas it's a more difficult with the iPhone as I have to reconfigure some stuff. Obviously, I have no idea how to do that!! And well, the iPhone's not available till next month anyways, so...

Well, the main thing is, it comes with GPS! If I don't wanna use it as a phone, I'll just use it as my sat nav to get places! And yes, it comes with a car charger as well... phew! Gaya dearie, you should get one too! :P hehehe... so you'll never get lost again!

Hopefully, it won't take me too long to get used to this baby...

Oh that reminds me, I need to set up my international roaming before Cambodia :D Whee! Can't wait to be on this adventure with my family again! Apparently, all my friends who's been there had heaps of good things to say about the place... so, we shall see.

I was going to get the touch cruise but decided I'll wait for the diamond and get a laptop first! Does touch cruise work with 3G phone?

Kelly: Yeah, the touch cruise is 3G.
Needed to get something, cause I already got a laptop last year... that's why I needed to settle for the cruise instead of waiting for the diamond. It's probably gonna take another few months!
