Checking out...

the IT places in the city last Friday.

As you all know, I've been pretty much living the suburbia life lately. I've cut down immensely on going out and partying... most of the time, more often than not, we're just too darn lazy to get dressed and get to the city after a long day at work. And when I'm on night shifts, durrr.... obviously, there'll be no partying for me. The only party we'll have is at the nurses' station, with chippies, cupcakes, and other junk food...

I'd say I have consumed more alcohol this weekend, than I have in a longgg time!

Friday started late for me. I returned home from work on Friday morning, slept till about 4pm, then showered, got ready, and drove down with Julia to the city to meet Jon and Thomas. The evening started at Beer DeLuxe @ Federation Square with happy hours after work...

Then proceeded to have a longgg satisfying dinner @ Seoul. It was good catching up with Thomas again. Haven't seen him since Jon left his old job. We always tease him for not being a marathon runner (He's Kenyan)... and laugh at how he pronounces bistro as 'bye-stro' instead of the usual 'bee-stro'. Apparently, he insisted that's the Kenyan way of pronouncing it.... and so is the rest of the world... he claims...

Julia and Mei.
It was Julia's first time having Korean BBQ. I think she was a little skeptical initially, not knowing what it tastes like... but she ended up really liking it! We stuffed ourselves silly at dinner, cause I reckon we probably over-ordered a little... but it was good preparation before drinking...

Dinner was followed by drinks @ Cho Gao - one of the new bars in Melbourne Central. Apparently, the new IT place to see and to be seen. I have not been there previously, but my friends have been hanging there abit recently... So Jon and I decided to meet up with some of them, and check out what the fuss was all about...

Daniel, Mei, Thomas and Jon.

The place was packed when we arrived! The crowd wasn't too bad though, mostly working people in their mid twenties, so I didn't feel quite out of place as I would have gone clubbing... Bumped into Daniel, Helen, Sam, Teresa, Sian, Lely and some of Jon's friends like Nhan and Quan, that I haven't seen for awhile... so it was a good opportunity to catch up with them :)

It was almost as if half of Melbourne was there that night... well, the half that goes out anyways, (unlike me :P So homely). Maybe cause their happy hours lasted from 5pm till 10pm... The crowd slowly dispersed about 11. About time to head to the clubs, perhaps...

Mei and Julia.

James, Dave and Ian.

It was nice of James and gang to drop by, cause we were supposed to catch up for drinks and go bar hopping initially, but ended up just staying put, as we got a table... and I was too lazy to move my butt... I wasn't too keen on walking all the way down to Flinders Lane again... only to walk back to QV, where I parked my car.

Mei & Mali.

Dave actually really impressed me with his magic tricks!! :D He was pretty good, I have to admit. Perhaps I should hire him as an entertainer if I decide to throw a party in the near future.... :)

We got home about 1ish last night, or shall I say this morning???

And again about 1ish tonight, after having dinner and drinks at Kelly and Trev's. She made lamb shanks for dinner, and yummy tiramisu for dessert... We had two bottles of wine between the 4 of us... and being the responsible driver, I only had one drink :) So, the other 3 alco's had most of the wine...

Thanks for inviting us over, Kel... Dinner was yum, and your new place's nice~! We shall invite ourselves over for delicious food more often!
