Chasing Rainbows

I sometimes feel like,
I'm chasing rainbows,
They're so beautiful and surreal,
They appear to colour the sky,
To brighten your day,
and take away your pain,
After the rain has fallen...

But the things with rainbows are,
They do not last,
You can see them, look at them, admire them,
But you can't touch them, hold them...
Or have them by your side eternally,
They will never truly be yours.

And the painful truth is,
You'll never really know what's at the rainbow's end.
You'll never get it truly figured out...

But is that the message that God is trying to send?
To enjoy it while it lasts...
And not to ask for more...

That's the problem we all have. We're constantly chasing after the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, thinking that it'll take all our problems away. But when we finally get there, it might just be cornflakes. You'll know what I mean if you've watched Click.

missmall: Yeah, I know what you mean. Click was quite a good movie, I must admit :)

I initially thought it was a comedy, but it turned out to be quite moving...

We tend to appreciate the beauty of it, because it doesn't last. If it does, many will start to take it for granted.

sam: yeah, i guess there is some truth in that. but aren't we all just greedy in some ways?

not everyday is sunshine. be patient, for good things only come to those who wait.
