Yes, once again, it's Melbourne Cup Day! Held annually on the first Tuesday in November. Always wondered why they make it a public holiday, for people to dress up in their best attire, and go bet on horses!?! But hey, it is a big thing here, and most locals will say, "You've got to go at least once, or else don't go tell anyone you've been in Melbourne". And hey, the best part is, we get a day off hospital! so I ain't complainin' :)
PBL yesterday, was very much distracted by spring racing discussions. Alison and Simon wanted to bet on Makybe Diva, the defending champion. Pay-outs are not fantastic, but hey, she's the hot favourite at the moment. Even Richard told me to place bets on her! "Just for the hell of it!" he claims... :P
I so so wanna go for it! Dawn myself in a pretty dress, a fantabulous hat, or perhaps a gorgeous fascinator, and *snap*snap*snap* heaps of pictures! Woohoo! Have Moet & Chandon ( if my horse wins... nah, i'd still drink anyhow) and just enjoy the atmosphere!
Alison and gang promised me that we'll go next year! hehe.. :) Meanwhile, I can drool over the pretty gals, and hot, suave hunks!
