The end, is merely the beginning

As most of you know, I have completed my stint in Dandenong, and is back to mothership in Clayton.

The 6 months in Dandenong, started to be an apprehensive one, for I have heard so many negative things about the place, from the population that resides there, to the crime rates, to the disorganisation of the hospital. But I have to say that once I settled in, and let my guard down, it actually turned out to be a really good experience. I have made friends with some really nice people, and will miss my colleagues dearly.

People are alot friendlier here, maybe because the team is smaller, and you see each other more often. You know more about their life and hobbies etc. I am not saying that people are not friendly in Clayton, it's just that it is always so crazily busy, you hardly have any time for small talks.

Anyways, here are some overdue photos of my last night in Dandenong. **Yes, my last shift was a night shift!** Sighhhh... I missed the "farewell party" cause I couldn't wake up for it. It was at 2pm in the afternoon.... I was obviously in REM sleep by that time!

Rattan and I came from Clayton - and started our first ever shift in Dandenong together. The NIGHT shift! We were soooo lost, we couldn't even find where the theatres are, and ended up in CCU. Hahaha. Luckily it wasn't a Code Green. We were just trying to familiarise ourselves with the hospital, and get some scrubs.

The night midwifery team :)
From L - R: Carmelina, Heidi, Clare (behind) Mei, Carolyn, Chris.

These lovely people have made my nights more tolerable.

The evening team - handing over to the night team.

Rattan, I will miss you heaps. You have been such a wonderful mentor to me. Enjoy yourself in New Zealand, and I'm sure it's lovely to have Agam by your side again. All the best!

Natharnia: It's been really cool going to the snow with you! I'm sure we'll do that again soon, when I return from Queenstown... if there's any snow left by then. Haha.

Pinaki: The nicest guy ever! My co-resident that thought me heaps when I knew nothing on my first day of O&G. He's a registrar now, and totally deserves to be! He always tell me never to give up when I have a bad day. Determination, perseverence, patience... you name it, he's got it.

Smiley smiley Hermina.

Cartoony Carolyn - you gotta love her. She makes cartoony voices when she's bored. Totally cute! She never fails to crack me up.

Clare, trying to cure her three-thirty-itis. Yes, the am, not pm.

On the far right, is one of our consultants, Jovo. I swear he cracks the most inappropriate jokes sometimes, but he super duper funny! A real father figure. You gotta love him for his sound advice. The only thing is, you may have to sit down and listen to him for a longggg time, for he doesn't really stop talking. Hehehe.

Well, it's been a great time here. I hope to return someday :) Will also upload pics from our O&G dinner soon.
