A day out with old friends...

One of our old friends, Ming Haw, just arrived in Melbourne and will be working here for the next year. I'd have to say that more and more people are venturing to the land down under from all parts of the world...

Anyways, a few of us came out and spent the beautiful Sunday afternoon together... starting by having lunch. :)

The Austin group, having lunch @ Pacific House Cafe in the city.

Apparently, Ming Haw and Esther went to uni together in Dundee! What a small world, huh??
I ordered the duck and "char siew" with noodles, but couldn't finish it! But I'd have to say, it was pretty good value for money though. The serving was really big!!! I did better than Esther though, hehehe... quite proud of myself!

We adjourned to Lygon Street for some yummilicious gelati after lunch! We walked there from the city, and all the way, Ming Haw was asking "Why do we have to walk so far for ice-cream??" That was before he tasted the gelati, of course!! :)

It was a splendid day for it, cause the sun was up, and it was officially the first weekend of Spring!! :) Yeaps, daylight saving just commenced.... Boohoo, so we lost one hour of sleep the night before, but the great, sun shiney day made up for it!!

We headed to Docklands after ice-cream, just to relax for abit. Apparently, Mabel hasn't been to Docklands too, so we killed two birds with one stone :P

Little kiddies on the bungy trampoline.

The ice-skating rink, and the almost-ready, ferris wheel of Melbourne...

Docklands have changed quite a bit since the last time I came. There's like a little flea market thingy on the weekends now. Not quite a busy as the South Melbourne or St Kilda market, but they do have some stalls selling trinkets, arts and crafts and so on... But maybe we were there kinda late, so most of them were either closed, or closing...

Happy snappy with pretty Mabel...

Just a group pic before the end of the day. Oh, how I miss our uni days so dearly!!! We used to hang out almost every weekend, and we'd celebrate everybody's birthday together... and now that we're working, things have certainly changed a bit.

It's never a full group, cause someone will have to work on some weekends, someone will be on- call or whatever... but yeah, it was certainly great catching up, and reminiscing the good old times the other day~!! I wish I could turn back time sometimes...

We need to organise a trip away soon! :) Our last trip was Gold Coast, and that was 2 years ago!!
